Theft of the Dial is a program on The Current they have public figure come in and take over the airwaves. Steve Earle used to do this on his radio program on Air America. Honestly it one of the best ways to get insight on some you are a fan of – what music they like or want to share. It’s like having to make a mixtape, but for a much larger audience. I can’t image the anguish one must go through to create there list – reminds me of the scene from High Fidelity, when Rob is discussing making a mixtape – it’s a very delicate art.
This week’s host is Ira Glass host / creator of This American Life . I’m a huge fan of him and his show. He has a great playlist – and the stories and dialog he supplies along with his playlist make it even better.
There’s even an extended interview with Ira.
